As the calendar moves closer to 2011, corporate leaders are readying their top initiatives for the coming year. How much time will you be spending next year on “people” issues?
In the past few weeks, I’ve heard handfuls of CIOs talk about their 2011 agenda—or at least what they think it will be. If the past few years have taught us anything, it’s that nothing is set in stone.
But there are plenty of initiatives and objectives that require significant planning. This obviously includes new or ongoing IT projects, but it also includes strategic programs aimed at developing your staff.
So what are the big-ticket “people” issues for 2011? Recruiting, training and retaining are always top priorities for IT leaders, but each area has a large number of sub-headings that can have a major affect on their organizations.
Are your training budgets coming back?
Are you ramping up retention efforts in anticipation of a stronger economy?
Is succession management being talked about at your company?
We’d like to hear which issues will matter most to you in the coming year.
